As long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, fish oils are prone to oxidation if exposed to oxygen, heat, or light. Accordingly, MEG-3® fish oils are processed with minimal exposure to heat under full vacuum to minimize the risk of oxidation. It is then blended with antioxidants and packaged utilizing nitrogen purging and blanketing. As such, MEG-3® fish oils deliver the best possible freshness.
Key indicators of oxidation are peroxide value (PV), para-anisdine value (p-AV), TOTOX, and acid value. MEG-3® limits are well below those set by GOED, assurance of high quality with respect to freshness.
