Dartmouth, Nova Scotia - Ocean Nutrition Canada (ONC) celebrated a significant health and safety milestone at its microencapsulation plant in Arcadia, Wisconsin when it marked more than 1,000 consecutive accident-free days. The plant, which manufactures ONC’s MEG-3® food ingredient, reached this milestone on July 22, 2011. A special event in September celebrated the achievement at Arcadia headquarters.
At the celebratory event, Craig Wilson, ONC Vice President of Human Resources, spoke on behalf of the organization’s Executive Team to the 35 plant employees, their family members and local community leaders including the mayor of Arcadia. “Ocean Nutrition began operating the Arcadia facility in 2005,” say Wilson. “With this event, we celebrated the passing of a milestone - 1,000 days of accident-free operation. That means that no employee of Ocean Nutrition in Arcadia has had a work-related accident or illness for the past three years. It’s quite an accomplishment..”
