Ocean Nutrition Canada Limited (ONC), supplier of MEG-3® brand Omega-3 EPA/DHA food and dietary supplement ingredients, is pleased to announce that Good Foods Enterprises has launched three cookies with the MEG-3® logo.Good Foods Enterprises new product, Mr. Cookie with MEG-3®, now appears in elementary schools around Ontario as part of their school lunch program.

Mr. Cookie is a four inch wide, individually wrapped cookie that comes in three delicious flavors: oatmeal, chocolate chip and double chocolate. Each nut-free, trans-fat free cookie has 25 mg of MEG-3® EPA/DHA from fish oil.

DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) are the physiologically essential fatty acids important for normal growth and development of children. The MEG-3® logo was created so consumers would know that the product they are purchasing contains the highest quality of EPA and DHA from fish oil.It was also created in such a way that kids could associate the friendly blue fish (MEG-3®) with the foods they love to eat.

Aman Rajan, President of Good Foods Enterprises, said, "We have been servicing schools for over ten years and we thought adding the MEG-3® ingredient to our cookies was a huge step forward in helping kids receive their daily intake of EPA and DHA."Rajan continued, "Adding the MEG-3® EPA/DHA ingredient to our product has also increased sales by 75%, which has exceeded our expectations."

Ian Lucas, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing with ONC, said, "Mr. Cookie with MEG-3® is a fun way for children to receive the EPA and DHA their bodies need."Lucas added, "We hope to have our MEG-3® ingredient in many other products in the school system before the end of the year in order to fight the nutrition gap that exists.Schools that offer Mr. Cookie have given children a way to get the goodness of fish, without the taste or smell of fish."
