Healthy Beginnings
In the early 1990s, John Risley, President and CEO of Clearwater Fine Foods Inc., Bedford, Nova Scotia, began to research the health benefits of seafood products. He was initially motivated by information on possible health benefits of shark cartilage. However, he quickly re-focused his attention to fish oil after learning the depth of scientific evidence supporting heart and brain health benefits of fish oil (Omega-3 EPA/DHA).
